Q: What is a Sentiment

A: In greeting cards, a sentiment is the message, feeling, or expression written on the card. It conveys the purpose of the card.

Examples of greeting card sentiments:

  • Sympathy: "Wishing you comfort during this difficult time." or "With Sympathy."
  • Thank You: "Your kindness means so much to us." or "Thank You."
  • Get Well: "Sending healing thoughts and warm wishes." or "Get Well Soon."

Q: What is a Focal Point?

A: A focal point is the part of a greeting card that catches your eye first. It's the main design element. It's the visual centerpiece of the card and helps communicate the card's theme or message.

Common focal points include:

  • A large image (flowers, animals, balloons, wreath, etc.)

For example:

  • On a wedding card, a cake image might be the focal point.
  • On a sympathy card, an elegant flower arrangement could serve as the focal point.
