Hi,
I am Jane Johnson, the owner and maker of Luree's Crafts. I live in the beautiful state of Pennsylvania, where I have been making and selling crafts since I was very young. I started with making potholders on those plastic square looms; I sold a ton of them for just 10 cents each! From that point on, I have been making and selling an array of crafts.
I can truly say that my crafting passion has been a lifelong pursuit. It unexpectedly blossomed in a new direction during the COVID-19 lockdown when I created my first greeting cards. At first, it was just a way to connect with my congregation, sending a simple notecard to everyone as a sign of love and encouragement.
Crafting cards for loved ones unearthed a creative flair that even I found surprising. The constant stream of compliments—and the encouragement to sell my work—made me realize that this passion for designing cards was something I was eager to share beyond my immediate circle.
The idea of selling my cards took root during a conversation with my brother, who suggested taking them online. The final piece fell into place with the help of a dear friend who provided crucial supplies, invaluable guidance, and constant motivation. I will be ever indebted to her.
What began as a simple hobby in a small corner of a shared room quickly outgrew its space. As my supplies multiplied, I moved my operations from room to room before finally settling into a new, larger area.
While I don’t know exactly what the future holds for Luree's Crafts, I am excited to see where this journey takes me. My hope is to build a high-quality online greeting card store and eventually expand into other crafts.
Starting this business has been more challenging than I expected, but the overwhelming support I’ve received has made all the difference. I am so excited to finally share my card-making—and the love and friendship that inspire it—with all of you.
Jane

Hi,
My small business is growing faster than I ever expected, and I have now expanded into making journals. I have actually been making journals long before Luree’s Crafts was ever thought of—long before I made my first greeting card. Looking back, I can’t believe I didn’t start with selling journals! For now, I’m continuing to create as many different types of journals as I can, each one made with creativity and a little piece of my own love for journal making.
Journal making has a long history, dating back to ancient civilizations where people recorded thoughts, stories, artwork, and important events on clay tablets, papyrus, and handmade paper. Over the centuries, journals evolved from simple handwritten books into beautifully bound personal collections filled with writing, sketches, keepsakes, and memories. Today, journal making combines these traditions with modern creativity, using recycled papers, photographs, fabric, ephemera, stamps, and handmade embellishments to create journals that are both useful and uniquely personal.
I hope to share in these traditions by continuing to create journals for those who have thoughts they want to put on paper, memories they want to preserve, dreams they want to explore, or simply a story waiting to be told. Whether used for writing, sketching, collecting keepsakes, or recording everyday moments, I hope each journal becomes something personal and meaningful to its owner.
